Color-themed gifts are one of my favorite gifts to put together! Not only are they fun to shop for, but they look amazing and they always bring a smile to someone’s face!
This yellow themed gift basket is so bright and cheery, it’s hard NOT to smile looking at it! I have given these multiple times to friends, and it always brings the perfect smile to their faces!
Yellow gift baskets aren’t the only fun colors to make gift baskets out of. I’ve also made gift baskets (with free printable matching tags of course) for Teal, Pink, and Blue and will be adding more soon!
How do you make this DIY Yellow Gift Basket?
Step 1: Gather your supplies.
You will need:
- Free Printable Sunshine Gift Tag
- Yellow Container
- Yellow Paper Shred
- Yellow Curling Ribbon
- Yellow Gift Items (click this to see a huge list of ideas I made on Amazon)
- Hole Punch
Step 2: Print out the Here’s Some Sunshine gift tags.
When you print out the tags, they will look like the picture above. They print four-to-a-page so you can make multiple yellow gift baskets, or have extra in case you make a mistake.
Pro Tip: Print these tags on cardstock paper for the best results. If you print on regular paper, they will be flimsy and tear easily when attached to your gift.
Step 3: Gather your yellow gift basket items.
Finding yellow gift basket items was so much fun! I love the color yellow and seeing them all grouped together just kept making me smile! Customize the items in your basket to the person you’re buying for! Check out the ideas below, or look at this big list of yellow gift basket ideas on Amazon here.
Yellow Things to Put in a Gift Basket:

- Juicy Fruit Gum
- Yellow Office Supplies
- Yellow Kitchen Towels
- Yellow Bath Bombs
- Yellow Face Mask
- Yellow Jewelry
- Subway Gift Card
- Yellow Makeup
- Yellow Socks
- Yellow Jelly Beans
- Yellow M&M’s
Best places to shop for yellow items:
I couldn’t find a container locally, so I ended up getting a cute little wood crate from Walmart and just spray painting it yellow.
I played with all of my yellow gift basket items until I liked the way they looked in my basket. I usually do the tallest items in the back of the basket and small items in the front.
Make sure to press your items down in the basket filler for a snug fit. Paper shred works great for this and you can find it at the dollar store in the party supplies near the gift bags usually in almost any color!
Step 4: Cut out and attach the tags.
Yellow just makes me think of sunshine, and that’s why I chose the wording I did for this yellow-themed gift. You can grab them to print for free HERE.
Use a sharp pair of scissors and cut out the tags. Punch a hole in the top of the tag, and run a ribbon through the hole and tie it to your gift basket or container.
Now your adorable box of sunshine is ready to give! It’s so bright and cheery and is sure to brighten just about anyone’s day!
I love these themed gifts because you can make them affordable, or go all in and add gift cards and more expensive items too.
They also work for any gender or age group because you’re just grouping things by color.
Give these for a special occasion, or just to make someone smile! The tag works in all situations!
